Maison des Artistes


At the "confluence of bayous Teche and Fuselier"  are the 
Maison des Artistes guest cottages. 

  Two unique cottages dedicated to two Louisiana artists.
Each accommodating up to four guests
and available througout the year.

















Located in the rural community of Arnaudville, Louisiana, Maison des Artistes is
centrally located in both St. Martin and St. Landry parishes 
within the Deux Bayous Cultural District.  

Arnaudville offers an authentic French Louisiana cultural experience.
Selected as one of 15 communities as a "Creative Placemaker"
 by the Mayor's Institute of City Design,
Arnaudville is a small French village supportive of its local arts and culture.
Here French is NOT a second language.

Located within walking distance are:
the NUNU Arts and Culture Collective,
 featuring art and craft galleries, local bands, a weekly French quilting circle,
 monthly Potluck social, workshops,
artist retreats and the studio of visual artist George Marks.
  The gallery and studio of nature painter Vincent Darby,
 the "Norman Rockwell of the Bayou,"
is but a short walk away, as is Tom's Fiddle and Bow
where every first Saturday of every month
musicians gather for an acoustic jam.   

Explore dress-up or dress-down restaurants and food establishments
here in town or in neighboring communities:
the Little Big Cup coffee shop and restaurant (Arnaudville);
Café des Amis (Breaux Bridge);
Creola Cafe (Grand Coteau); Back in Time (Opelousas);
Steamboat Warehouse (Washington).

Ideal place for artists, musicians, or anyone who loves art, culture, dancing and food.
A great place for nature lovers, hunters, fisherman and more.
Fresh water lakes, the Atchafalaya Basin and mysterious bayous abound. 

Cottages include full and 2 twin/single beds with Egyptian cotton sheets.
Entertainment includes Satellite TV, DVD, CD Player.
Kitchen includes stove, oven, refrigerator & microwave.
Outdoor  back porch. Wireless internet
No pets, minimum age requirement and no smoking allowed within cottages.

Area activities include shopping, sightseeing, restaurants, boating, biking,
wildlife viewing, bird watching, fishing, hunting, antiquing, museums, horseback riding
Special events include Festival International de Lafayette, Festival Acadienne,
Arnaudville Etouffee Festival, Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival,
 Port Barre Cracklin Festival,
 Arnaudville Le Feu et l'Eau (Fire and Water) Rural Arts Celebration,
 Cycle Zydeco and Grand Coteau Festival of Words.
